DST CTD and DST CT loggers are the smallest salinity monitors in the world market.  They are specially designed as archival tags for analysing fish migration, distribution, feeding behavior, vertical and horizontal movements.  DST CTD and DST CT are ideal for research on marine animals. They weigh only 12g in water and 19g in air, the size is 15 mm x 46mm. The DST CTD memory can store up to 87,000 measurements per sensor. Depth measurements can be skipped (DST CT), increasing the memory size to 130,000 measurements per sensor.

The small conductivity loggers are also used as CTD monitors or as conductivity and temperure monitors. They are also ideal as stand-alone monitors for sampling in the ocean, they can for example be fastened to fishing gear, collecting valuable data.  Star-Oddi offers protective housing for the DST CTD and DST CT.

The DST centi temperature and depth logger has a long battery life. It weighs only 12g in water and 19g in air, the size is 15 mm x 46 mm.

DST centi series is specially designed for tagging fish, for analysing fish migration, distribution, feeding behavior, vertical  and horizontal movements.  The DST centi temperature and depth archival tag can be used externally or implanted into the body cavity on fish.  If tagged internally, Star-Oddi delivers the tag with a plastic tube attached (if desired). The tag is ideal for research on other marine animals as well and as a stand alone logger for sampling in the ocean, fresh water or other situations for collection of temperature and/or pressure measurements. The DST centi is also ideal as a small underwater temperature logger, or as a waterproof temperature and pressure monitor in diverse industries.

 DST milli and DST milli-L

DST milli type is specially designed as a small archival tag for fish, for analysing fish migration, distribution, feeding behavior, vertical  and horizontal movements and weigths only 5g in water and 9,2g in air, the size is 12,5mm x 38.4mm.

DST milli is also ideal as a stand-alone logger for temperature and depth recordings in oceans or fresh water environments. It can for example be fastened to fishing gear or other underwater equipment, collecting valuable data. 
The small size makes it feasible for temperature-pressure measurements in various liquids.

 DST GPS

DST GPS measures temperature, pressure (depth) and listens to a sonar signal. Data is stored in a non-volatile internal memory. All recordings are time related, utilising a real time clock inside the recorder.
The cost effective and small size construction of the DST GPS archival tag is made possible by carefully selecting modern microelectronic components and successful sensor development at Star-Oddi.

 DST micro

Sensors: Temperature and pressure (depth)
Memory size:  43,476 measurements in total*
Battery life: 18 months (sampling interval of 10 min)
Depth: Down to 1000m (user selected)

DST micro is available as temperature and depth recorder or it can be set to only record temperature. The temperature range is -1°C to 40°C (30°F to 104°F) and the depth range up to 1000m depth. Battery life is 18 months (for sampling interval of 10 min) and the sampling interval can be defined in seconds, minutes or hours.

 DST pitch & roll

The DST pitch & roll measures temperature and depth, relative pitch & roll movements of the DST, with reference to the earth gravity in two directions.

 DST compass

Sensors: Magnetic field strength (compass), temperature and pressure (depth)
Memory size: Total memory size 129,000 measurements
Battery life: 2 years (sampling interval of 10 min)
Depth: Down to 3000 m depth (user selected) 

  • The DST compass measures temperature and depth, relative directional movements of the DST, with reference to the magnetic north.
  • The measuring parameters are measuring the magnetic field in two directions.
  • The compass version has +/-15° accuracy,  the user can program it to show heading as a four or eight point compass, or in degrees.
  • The DST compass allows the scientist to take frequent sampling of the direction, since different intervals can be set for the compass and the depth-temp measurements.
  • The performance of the DST compass is optimum when positioned in a horizontal plan.

DST tilt

  • The tilt has +/-2° accuracy.

  • The DST comp-tilt measures temperature and depth, relative directional movements of the DST, with reference to the magnetic north, as well as the tilt in three directions.
  • The compass has +/-15° accuracy.
  • Different intervals can be set for the compass-tilt and the depth-temp measurements.
  • Compass measurements are tilt compensated.
  • With the three directional tilt vectors, the tilting of the DST (or the subject) will have little influence on the compass accuracy.
