Fish Positioning Sounder (FPS)
The Star-Oddi Fish Positioning Sounder (FPS) transmits acoustic signals to DST GPS fish tags. It can either transmit its longitude and latitude location or its ID number. The FPS is intended for use in lakes, rivers and smaller ocean areas. The sounder can be placed on a small vessels/boats or in fixed position such as buoys. When used in fixed position it can be programmed to send its ID only. The Star-Oddi sounder can be programmed from a computer to transmit an ID or be connected to a GPS antenna transmitting continuously as the position changes. Transmitting range of the Star-Oddi sounder can be set up for ca. 300 hundred meters. The FPS can be fed with external power or connected to a supplied battery pack.
