Copper Grid for DST CTD/CT - Anti-biofouling Device
Key features
- Minimizes the risk of biofouling, reducing growth formation on the cells on the DST CT and CTD
- Fits inside Star-Oddi's plastic protective housing
- Recommended for long-term stationary monitoring
- Description
Reduce growth formation
The copper grid, inserted into the plastic protective housing which complements our salinity logger, decreases biofouling to a large degree. Fouling of conductivity sensors is a common problem when doing long-term measurements of salinity data as it leads to a decline in conductivity accuracy. Using the copper grid helps preventing this problem, with the aim of keeping the cells clean.
Fits inside the plastic protective housing
Plastic bolts are inserted into the housing and through the copper grid in two places. This ensures that the copper is kept firmly in place at the water entry holes. We recommend buying backup copper grids as they may be needed swapped out, especially after measuring non-stop for several months.
Application
The copper grid is ideal for long-term monitoring when the conductivity logger is left unattended for one month or more. We still recommend cleaning the cells with warm water using a cotton bud after surfacing.
